From where are these young beings surfacing? The sea? A lake? A swimming pool? An immense ocean?

The moment a body emerges from water naturally provokes an emotion… It can be joy, fear, astonishment, embarrassment, tranquility..It is this moment that Coco wanted to capture in her series entitled « Come Hell or High Water ».

The youth is part of an era in which uncertainty about the future is at an all-time high, as is mistrust of politics, institutions, and the media. This troubled feeling of young people can be explained by a mass for contra­dictions and obscure areas left by their elders. There is fear, and a real and multifaceted concern of entering a confused, mutating world, often without landmarks, where a thousand forms of violence co-exist.

It is this age, that of refl ection and self-searching that Coco Amardeil wanted to transcribe through some twenty images. This generation, which anticipates the society of tomorrow - without really knowing where it is going or what it wants.
